On Thursday, July 24th at San Diego Comic-Con, Ballroom 20 was jam-packed with fans of Twisted Metal, who were given an exclusive sneak peek of the second season ahead of the first three episodes premiering on NBC’s Peacock streaming service on July 31st. Executive producers Michael Jonathan Smith, Asad Qizilbash (PlayStation Productions), and cast members Anthony Mackie (who is also an executive producer), Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, and Anthony Carrigan teased what fans can expect and showcased action-packed moments from the new season.
Following the panel, the cast crashed onto the scene at the Twisted Metal Bumper Battle activation across the street from the San Diego Convention Center, where they were able to choose their ride, featuring the show’s most iconic vehicles reimagined as bumper cars, and take part in their own version of the Calypso-hosted derby. Stars Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz surprised fans at the activation by giving away PlayStation 5's to a few lucky riders. Other cast members in attendance included Mike Mitchell ('Stu'), Saylor Bell Curda ('Mayhem'), Patty Guggenheim ('Raven') and Tiana Okoye ('Dollface').
Twisted Metal S2 will premiere with three episodes on Peacock on July 31st, 2025, with new episodes every Thursday through August 28th. This season, following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.
Once its foundation firms up, “Weapons” continues forward as an experiment in storytelling that’s more about the telling than it is about the story.
